Senior CAD/BIM Designer, Duluth, GA – 

Job Duties

  • Create shop drawings to meet customer specifications.
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Design and prepare detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts, and/or scale drawings for complex project from observation, measurements, sketches and specification.
  • Develop and document metal structures in 3d models.
  • Transform documents 2D into 3D models Using Autodesk Inventor and/or Revit
  • Prepare bill of materials from 3D models.
  • Liaises with engineers to gather product and material requirements to convert product designs into drawings and plans.
  • Use CAD/BIM Software to design shade systems, layout and product sizes.
  • Communicate with the project manager, GC, architect and engineers to obtain details of field condition and materials. 
  • Modify CAD files design to comply with modified specifications made during actual contractions.
  • Collaborate with sales staff and customers regarding required changes to existing drawings.
  • Keep tracking on projects status.
  • Assist in determining and verifying building measurements and other related information required for proper design.
  • Ensuring changes are properly approved and documented.  
  • Create fabrication set of drawings and corresponding work orders.
  • Bring support to the work shop with custom pieces.
  • Analyze, update and maintain records and resolve discrepancies
  • Procuring and organizing final as-built document sets. 
  • Maintain company design and drafting standards. 
  • Bring support to the installation crews when is need 
  • Assist operations and engineering teams with other administrative tasks, as needed.
  • Final checking and distribution of fully coordinated installation drawings. 

Work Schedule 

40 hr/wk, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Education and Experience Requirements

Associate’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting/Design or related field, or foreign equivalent.

Two years (24 months) of experience as a Designer or related occupation. Within the required 2 years of employment experience, at least one year (12 months) of experience with 3D CAD software (Inventor, Revit and AutoCAD) and associated tools, or related technology.
